Information We Collect
When you visit our Website and use the Services, you may provide us with certain personally identifiable information including, but not limited to, your first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, social security number, birth date, mailing address, Student Loan Account Information (as defined below), and Tuition.io password. We refer to all of this information as “Personal Information.” We do not collect any Personal Information from Visitors to the Website unless the Visitor provides us with the Personal Information voluntarily (for example, by registering for an account).
When we are acting as a service provider to the Company to enable the Company to provide the Company Services to you, if your Company requires us to verify your student loan account(s) that are designated to receive Company contributions pursuant to the Company Services, we may ask you to provide a copy of your student loan statement to verify your student loan accounts that are designated to receive Company contributions pursuant to the Company Services.
You may ask us to access your student loan accounts on your behalf in order to collect certain information about your student loans. We refer to your account with a third party that maintains information about your student loans (such as a loan servicer, collection agency, bank, or other financial institution or organization) as your “Student Loan Account,” and we refer to the information we collect from your Student Loan Account as the “Student Loan Account Information.” If you provide us with your user name and password/pin and other authentication credentials in order for us to access your Student Loan Account, you authorize us (and/or our Third Party Service Providers) to access, collect, use and share your Student Loan Account Information as necessary to provide you with the Services.
We will, for example, use your Student Loan Account Information and other Personal Information to provide you with information regarding your financial situation and to help you find out whether you are eligible to restructure your student loans and to enable you to use the Services to apply for some forms of loan restructuring (such as through a federal loan program, loan consolidation, deferment, or forbearance). If you provide us in our capacity as service provider to the Company that provides the Company Services to you with your Student Loan Account Information in connection with student loan contributions made by such Company pursuant to the Company Services, we will use that information in order to apply the Company contributions towards your Student Loan Account. We will access your Student Loan Account periodically so we can make sure we have the most up to date information about your student loans and so we can provide the Company Services.
We may automatically collect other types of non-personally identifiable information when you visit the Website and use the Services such as your network location, the IP address of your computer, and what sections of the Website you visit.
How We Use and Share the Information of Registered Users
We use the Personal Information and the other information (a) to provide you the Services, (b) to send you information about Tuition.io or the Services, (c) to customize and tailor your experience on the Website, and (d) to provide you with content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences. We may also use your contact information to provide you a customer survey to assess your satisfaction with the Services.
We may share Personal Information with third parties as described below:
We may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf in connection with the Services. Examples may include providing marketing assistance and customer service. These other companies and individuals will have access to the Personal Information only as necessary to perform their functions and to the extent permitted by law.
In an ongoing effort to better understand our customers, we might aggregate Personal Information that is provided through the Website. In aggregate form, this Personal Information does not identify you personally. We may share this aggregate data with our business affiliates and agents. We may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe the Services to current and prospective business affiliates, customers and investors, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
If we or any of our family of companies (or all or substantially all of our assets or the assets of any of our family of companies) are acquired or merged into another company, we expect that the Personal Information would be transferred along with the other business assets.
To the extent permitted by law, we may also disclose Personal Information when required by law, court order, or other government or law enforcement authority or regulatory agency, or whenever we believe that disclosing the Personal Information is necessary or advisable, for example, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tuition.io or others.
How We Use and Share the Information of Company Registered Users
If you are enrolled to receive Company Services due to a family member that is employed by such Company, such family member may have access to the information you provide to us. By registering via the Website as a Company Registered User, you thereby consent to Tuition.io disclosing information regarding your student loans and your usage of the Company Services to the family member employed by the Company providing the Company Services.
We may, based on your use of the Company Services, disclose aggregate information (based on your Personal Information) to the Company that provides Company Services to you.
If the Company that provides Company Services to you requires us to verify your student loan accounts that are designated to receive Company contributions pursuant to the Company Services, we may ask you to provide a copy of your student loan statement to verify your student loan accounts that are designated to receive Company contributions pursuant to the Company Services. We will use your student loan statement solely as necessary to verify the information that the Company has asked us to verify, including but not limited to, verifying that you are the legal owner of the student loans for which you are seeking contributions from such Company.
We also may disclose your Personal Information and specific information about Company contribution(s) made and/or to be made to your student loan(s) pursuant to the Company Services on your behalf to other companies we use to process these student loan contributions or to provide the Company Services.

In addition, you may manage your receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of any Tuition.io marketing e-mails. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to process such requests in a timely manner. You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our subscription databases, and we may be required by law or by contractual obligations to retain certain Personal Information in order to document the services, including but not limited to the Company Services, that Tuition.io has performed.
